A day high up among passes, alpine meadows and scenic trails.

The Tour des Arolles is designed for trail runners seeking a major mountain experience.

After an initial gradual climb from Val-Cimes, the route crosses the alpages of the Grande Lanche before reaching the Col des Arolles. A long descent then leads to Bellecombe, the main aid station on the course.

The second half becomes wilder, with a crossing of the Vallon des Écrins and the passage of the Col de la Fenêtre. The final kilometres offer a long, rolling descent back to Val-Cimes.

With 4,300 m of positive elevation gain, the Tour des Arolles remains a demanding challenge requiring solid mountain preparation.
